– Over 32 hours, 24 specialists batted around ideas regarding what Swedish contract manufacturing must do to remain competitive in the future. At 16.00 we will present the ideas from our Innovation Race at the Elmia Subcontractor fair in Jönköping.

Linda Fransson, CEO of Gnosjö Automatsvarvning, has been behind the scenes and helped the four groups to find answers to their questions during the idea process.

– The questions have targeted everything from how to track individual turned precision components to contractors’ most pressing requirements for turning an invention on the back-burner into an innovative product for the market.

Those invited come from a wide range of industries – industrial designers, engineers, graphic designers, communicators, digital developers and sustainability experts. This has helped to ensure a wide variety of perspectives.

– It’ll be very interesting to see what the groups present. As the process manager of this race, I’ve heard a lot. So I’m hoping we’ll identify some early-stage concepts for products, methods and services that didn’t previously exist and that will help to push Swedish industry forwards,” says Olle Hansson from Innovation Plant.

Kristina Frisk, CEO of SVID, is sitting with the group that is developing ideas in the fields of industrial design.

– The first day has been very inspiring. The Innovation Race shows the true power of Swedish industry.
